Transforming City Image Management in a Major UAE Emirate
Case Background
A prominent Emirate in the UAE sought to enhance the city's image and elevate the quality of life for its citizens. To address this, our consulting team was engaged to develop an integrated strategic plan. This comprehensive plan incorporates both long-term and short-term initiatives to effectively tackle any underlying issues that could potentially lead to a decline.
Outcome
The City Image Management (CIM) project revamped the city's image, leading to the Emirate's inception and operationalization of the CIM department. This project was carried out in close coordination with the Program Management team, significantly enhancing the city's appeal and improving the standard of living for its residents. This resulted in a tangible boost to the city's image, setting a benchmark for city image management across the region.
Our Approach
- Thoroughly analyzed the municipality's control and monitoring system.
- Conducted evidence-based research and surveys to identify and address factors contributing to the city's negative image.
- Developed and prioritized growth initiatives based on feedback from residents, visitors, and successful strategies from peer cities.
- Created a detailed work-plan to attract visitors, assigning manageable tasks to six dedicated teams with strong leaders, timelines, and resources.
